Hello all,
I know this topic has appeared before ..... Does anyone have the remains of a 80" canvas top suitable for a pattern ? I am making my own top and I need to know where and how the seams and such are made. Even drawings of the seams and any details would be of help. I believe the tops changed in design somewhat when the flat top to curved top hood frame change occured in 1951 ? .
It appears the tops have a binding edge along some areas.
BTW: I will draw up the top as information comes to light and make the detailed drawings available to anyone , possibly via this forum.

The change over was in 1950, I will get the chassis number for you tonight.
The best I can do is photos from my Exmoor reproduction in several weeks.

Hi there,
I am also looking in making my own canvas top. Do you have some info / patterns / drawings of the top that I might be able to use?

Ok..my drawings are rather disorganised and are only basic scribbles .. would be difficult for you to work them out ..
I scanned them so I could post a CD to you .
Basically..you make the top in following sequence :
1 main top/centre
2 side panels
3 rear panel
After the panels are finished ..you sew them all together .
