It's actually an aerodynamic aid, once installed the Defender handles like it's on rails.;)

Shame the rest of the equipment isn't there, it could cut my commute to work down considerably.

Do you think they could build me one like that all the way round?
Would make the work commute a lot more fun knowing nothing could get close:twisted:.

aha, the autoparking area space maker,
i've been waiting for one of these to come on the market.
will probably fetch a fair price due to the rarity and need for these in the gold coast council parking bays.

I find it strange that they have actually left the safety guard on the vehicle(is the rear one still there?), all the additional lighting has been removed and the train horn, (thats a bummer, though it most likely still has the tank and compressor to go with it) you can't see it hanging so I assume all the other highrail equipment has been removed and chucked on another vehicle (most likely a new Hilux) The hydraulics on the back and front (if they are still there) could potentially make the vehicle fairly unstopable off road, imagine being bogged, press a button and two extra sets of axles drop down and you self recover to the amazement of all around you. Potentially this would make this vehicle is a part time 8x8.

Now who says it's silly looking and unpractical?

My mother-in-law would look great up the front there...
