I have removed both mufflers from the disco and it sounds great . Not over the top loud but not quiet either . The Tdi does sound a lot better and maybe even a small power increase  ...... Love it :cool:.

I removed the main muffler and replaced it with a hotdog , Ive recently removed the resonator from the rear and replaced that with a pipe
The only difference i noticed was when i removed the main muffler ,the turbo spooled up quicker;)
Oh and it does sound better now with out the resonator :D But no extra gains:cool:

Yeah - I was just about to say that but you beat me to it! The only real difference I could ascertain was the turbo whistle. Inside the cab - no difference.

I only noticed power difference because both of the mufflers were choked up with crap and had collapsed on the inside ;).

After removing my D2's main muffler, I didn't think there was any real power gain either. But while on holidays I was following another D2 TD5 up a hill and was able to pull out and pass. I was fully loaded to the roof. Poor bugger must have been hating his Disco that day.:D
