Welcome to the forum motaflash, you're in Chile eh?

Your problem could be a number of things and no doubt some people more knowledgeable than me will add some information soon.

For instance, does anyone know if the Def 300tdi had an alarm cut-out for the fuel cut-off solenoid??

Anybody???

try the earth on the starter. bloody thing is a female electrical connector that can get dirt etc into it and won't let the car start.

if it wont turn on the starter the drive solenoide for it is either sticking and not allowing the thing to get power or youve lost the connection to the startermotor from the battery or the key (one is no power and one is no signal to tell it to start).

if its a manual try a roll start if you wheels come to a screeching halt then the engine is hydrauliced and thats not good as it usually means you have a leaking head gasket thats filled a pot with coolant.

If its an auto try to turn the engine over by the belts at the front and if you cant move it at all in the normal direction of rotation then youve hydrauliced it... and thats bad for the same reason.

My theory:

This is based on a recent Tdi I encountered with a siezed alternator. It is enough to stop the engine from rotating. Try disconnecting the main drive belt and see if the engine will then rotate.

If so, a new Alternator is in order:D

as Dave said could be the solenoid. the one in my defender stuffed up a few times. glow it, go to turn the key and nothing...

one way to fix it is the jump out open ur bonnet and just lightly give the starter motor a few knocks with a spanner. get back in and it should start.

happened to me in a few very embarrassing places. eventually it came right and no longer plays up. :)

could be something completely different but thats one option
