Saw these on eBay, no use to me as I'm on diesel but wondered if they could be of use to anyone else ?

Don't seem very expensive so you can't lose a lot. No association etc.

I'll give it a shot and let you know.

I'll think you'll find that it is a resistor that changes the MAF reading to get the engine to run lean. Running lean is thought to be one of causes the V8 block to crack and have slipped liners.

SAVE UP TO 25 MPG IMMEDIATELY!

Boy! Saving 25 mpg - that's an impressive saving! So does that make the Disco give 50mpg? :D

However, if it gives more power as claimed, it might make it run rich.

Would I try it? No way.

well, i think the seller is a pud puller.
ah, the 'save twenty five mpg' is just that.
ie: it might save you 'up to' 25 miles per gallon, 'if you have a postie bike' not make the fuel consumption reduce by 25 miles per gallon.
so if you get 16 mpg now from your disco, nothing changes - just you have $20 less to put in the tank, or spend on beer.

Nothing but a dangers gimmick just to cash in who cares if your car stuffs up later becuase there long gone or they have used false details.

Try this it might not save as much but it has other benifits and has been proven to work 100% and has been on TV awhile back I have one of these on my small car and I noticed less oil changes as the oil is staying cleaner for longer better idle and a small increase in power i will be getting one for my landy soon.

Fitch Fuel Catalyst Australia - Low Emissions More Power Better Efficiency (http://www.fitchcatalyst.com.au)

Actually it was proven ineffective.... But was the only one who offered their product up for public scrutiny...

You'd get better results shoving a tank of premium through the engine every 2-3 tanks.

You, my dear sir, are a victim of the placebo effect :D

You sir might want to back that claim up as I have never read anything claiming the fitch did not work at all. All my cars run on premium since brought years back and the one I have the fitch in does better then the rest.

and I noticed less oil changes as the oil is staying cleaner for longer

hmmmmmm interesting observation

how do you know it is staying cleaner?

just looking at it?

have you had any oil sampling done to show that is actually the case?

are the additive packages in the oil still stable?

looks can be very deceiving ...

If all you want is oil that looks cleaner.. run a better filter
search is your friend;)

since I've been running "The Pure One" in the suby the oil never gets dirty,,,,,

but I still change it every 5k.

why I hear you ask?

because oil is cheap,,
and just removing dirt doesnt mean the oil is still working as advertised.

I. too, think the Fitch is snake oil.

I'd like to see these tested by a motoring org.

The CHOICE fuel saver

Fully endorsed by all leading car makers, motoring organisations and governments.
Easy to fit — no tools required.
Works through a complex scientific combination of behavioural change, proper maintenance and common sense.
Lifetime warranty.How it works

Print this page, put it in your car, follow the tips below — and you could reduce your fuel costs by 10% or more! And lower fuel consumption means lower emissions, so you’ll be kinder to the environment too.
Use your car less — walk, cycle, carpool or use public transport instead. In particular, avoid short trips.
Avoid hard acceleration and braking. Try to anticipate traffic flow and drive smoothly at a steady speed.
Shift up through the gears early — high revs use more fuel.
Avoid driving in peak hour.
Don’t warm up your engine — it’s unnecessary and wastes fuel.
Avoid idling for extended periods.
Inflate the tyres to the maximum pressure recommended by the manufacturer. Make sure the wheels are aligned properly.
Ensure your car is serviced regularly, and tuned to the manufacturer’s specifications.
Take off the roof rack when you don’t need it.
Remove heavy loads from your car when you don’t need them.I love this,

Baz.
