I better save faster. I'm jealous of that machine.

They did not mention range though and I would like to know that.

I watched all 4 vids of that elec LR, it was a bit useless in conveying facts, eg they said the stiff leaf springs was going to assist the old LR in rocky articulating terrain and the coils would make the RR bounce too much. But they completely ignored the fact that the series LR had double diff locks and the RR seemed to have none. All in all it was interesting but typical American sensationalist stuff with no real boundary's and lots of missing key info.

I can't view the vids at work so I don't know if I'm talking about the same one or not but I read an article in a mag a few years ago about a yank who put an electric motor in a swb s2 The motor was about the size of the gearbox, he said he didn't need the gearbox because of the full 600NM of torque from zero to 6000rpm ( both figures from memory ) but he left it in for ease of mounting.
He ran the thing on 14x 12v batteries and when on a long test drive included a 15KW generator.

From memory it did 0 - 60mph in about 6 seconds and the speedo was well and truly overun !

I'll have a look at the vids when I get home and see if it's the same
