ok so our covers are on........and no they are not easy to fit! they are a tight fit which made them hard to get on.
but apart from that when we took our front seat bases out and fit the covers we couldn't get the bloody things back in again for love nor money...
but i'm happy with them, and for some reason we have an extra 3 head rest covers :D

Now Ive never been a lover of seat covers - they always seem to slide around and end up coming off the base...
Thats said I do like to protect the seats and keep them clean and tidy... See the dilema!!
I have some waterproof & breathable covers on the 110 at the moment and they are good apart from the fact that they have a reluctance to keep on the seat pad when leaving the vehicle.
Question. What keeps the M&Ms on the seat? Do you find they move around - they look a much better fit to the LR ones I have.
Mines a 2006 110XS so I dont have those fancy seats:(

You too! What's going on? They are different too with a velcro centre piece:confused:
As for the fitting of the front bases, we had some problems, but got it sorted, I'll get some pic's if you need. The trick was to feed the straps through the eye-lets one way and the pull the whole lot forward off the back a bit as the eye-lets catch on the base.

Jon, they've only been on a couple of days! Anyway the backs are wrapped around the seat and velcro close at the bottom. The front bases have a strap that pulls the tight around the base, the rears have 2 straps like the front and on the 60% side some extra straps in the middle.

the seat covers are also a tight tailor fit.......i would be very supprised if these moved at all...the only thing ian said when i asked them what they are like he said it will take a bit to get used to them as they make the seat feel a lot stiffer..

Yep - very pleased - once they're worn in think they'll be a better fit - minor adjustments here and there (just NOT the front seats) -

Well I took the base out today as I'm wiring for the fridge and had another look at it...the cover is fitted very much like yours.

This time the base went back in a little more easily....not one handed but better.

It's a mystery. :D

They are very comfortable to sit on...Sal didn't even notice until I pointed them out (in fairness it was dark) ...but she has old towels for seat covers in the subie and probably expected a similar fit.

Sorry to resurect this old thread. I need a set of seat covers for a new PUMA. I like the Melville and Moon, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to find let alone order them from the Exmoor site. Any pointers would be appreciated - preferrably a direct click here to order the right set type help would be very much appreciated!!!
** Alternatively has any other brand of seat cover come up in the last 3 months?

go to the exmoor trim site and get thier phone number...much easier to deal with them over the phone as thier website has a quirk in it when ordering the back seat covers as you have to order fronts and backs seperatly. and even though you put both in the cart it only shows up as twp sets of fronts very bizzare

very very nice people to talk to over the phone...quick easy and take card payment too

oh and never be sorry for errecting an old thread, it shows you have searched the site which is far more appreciated then answering the same old questions..

besides we all like to look back at how good looking are cars are and we can only do that without looking vein by someone else ressurecting a thread :p :D

saw those online very tidy, as i used to go to land rovers owners international show in peterborough cambs, and exmoor always had a stall, loved the look of exmoors stuff, they dont seem to have the bench seat cover for the 130 but!!!
if they did wonder if it would be having map pockets in it lol ?
Anyone tried exmoor acoustic stuff as opposed to noise killer stuff ? exmoor slightly cheaper but is it as effective ????

The economic situation can't be too bad - I can't find anyone who will take a $1k and swap it for some canvas bags. Craddocks - I've phoned 3 times now, and they are as rude as anything. Still waiting for a quote - nearly 10 days now. NeneOverland have never sent these outside of the UK...

For those who would prefer the M & M's they are also available direct from Melvill and Moon in South Africa:

Dael@melvillandmoon.com

www.melvillandmoon (http://www.melvillandmoon)
Thanks so much for your enquiry. You may certainly order these covers from us directly – the price is R4950 for the 2007 model Defender 110 but the door to door airfreight cost to Australia will probably almost double the price unless you order a few sets. We would also need to make 100% sure that the seat configuration is not different in any way. Other prices are R2950 for the pick up and R4200 for the Defender 90, all 2007 models. Do let me know your delivery address so that I may obtain a freight quote. Credit Cards are accepted.
Please bear in mind that our factory closes for two weeks on Dec 19th for the Christmas and New Year period.
Covers take 7 to 10 working days to make and we will resume full production on January 12, 2009.
Colours available are Sand (khaki) or Leadshot Grey, all 100% cotton canvas, rot-proofed, water resistant and hand-washable.

R4950 is currently $713 AUD

Just to resurrect, again. The M & M people are great, s the post below says- still same email etc. The exmoor trim ones have done their own home brand job.
I think the MSA ones are also great but for me the M & M ones are the bollocks. I first noticed them on a custom painted Td5 in AMsterdam. Khaki/sand paint with black powder coated alloys and a set of these seat covers- but I thought they were a new LR material seat or something because they looked so snug and fit the car perfectly. Upon closer inspecytion I saw the buttons with Melviil and Moon and started looking them up and kept getting directed to Exmoor trim- but I think there might be a gap in terms of qualitiy of fit.
Ordered mine today for Puma.. like previous post on colpour choices.. lighter cars= grey covers.. darker= sand coloured. but then again each to their own..

I also purchased a full set (front + 2nd) of M&M seat covers from Nene Overland for my 2008 Puma.
Even though the order was stuffed up in that the front and 2nd row colours were different, Nene were great to deal with. I don't believe it was mistake by Nene, and at no point did they pass blame. Instead they sent the correct coloured 2nd row immediately, and said to keep the orginal incorrectly coloured ones (grey). Look out for a For Sale soon.
The fit of the M&M are brilliant and surprisingly how much more comfortable they make travel in all conditions.
Recommend both M&M and Nene.

Hello,
I got mine from Brookwells
Exmoor Trim :: Melville & Moon Canvas Seat Covers LIMITED STOCK From Brookwells (http://www.brookwell.co.uk/products/exmoor-trim/melville---moon-canvas-seat-covers-limited-stock)
I enquired direct from M&M, however the postage from South Africa was horrendous. It was cheaper to buy them from U.K!
Theyare very well made, very snug fit, I struggled to put them on the front seats initially as they were so tight.....

KArlB, Neneoverlander DOES NOT stock them anymore... when i read your post I rang them straight away only to be told they dont sell M &M anymore but the Exmoor trim copies.
Tomo, when did you get yours, suspect you got the last of the limited...How are they wearing.. any troubleshooting advice in getting them on? or things to be careful with.. mind you they are seat covers.. to protect the seat.. so they are menat to get dirty.

It was about 2 years ago I purchaced them.
Fitting Tips - The front seat bases were the hardest part to put on. I did not bother tying up the straps at the back as I found that the 'bowties' got in the way and the seat would not slot back properly. The covers still do not move even though the straps are not done up.....
They are wearing well, I washed them 6 months ago for the 1st time and was amazed at how much red dirt came out of them........ Wash with tepid, water only with a small amount of soap and flat dry. The drivers seat has faded quite a bit... I swapped it with the front passenger side to even up the wear. The nifty little pockets on the side of the front seat backrest are against the pillar now, I dont use them anyway.
Good luck finding some at a good price....

Crazy coincidence...! Mine just arrived yesterday as well. Mine came from South Africa though as the family over there clubbed together for a Christmas gift to send me.

I’ve only got the two front ones as the 90 never has the rear seats fitted and I’m absolutely thrilled with them. Cool little duffel bag as well!

Mine came with a canvas spare wheel cover as well which wasn’t on the order. Do they send that as standard advertising (it’s got the M & M logo on it) or was that included by accident?

Cheers,

Jim,

The covers are grey on the Stornoway Grey 90. I suppose dark enough to have gone for the sand colour, but being a Christmas gift I'm happy regardless!:D

The spare cover is an interresting dark grey/green colour unlike any of the advertised colour schemes. I initially thought it was grey like the seat covers, but in the light you can see that it's got a bit of green in it.

Hope I get home in time this evening to take a picture in the sunlight otherwise I'll do it over the weekend.

All,

Sorry for the late reply, but I just ran out of time over the weekend!

Photo of the fitted wheel cover attached. Like I said, when I opened the package the wheel cover was folded up with the rest of the gear and I asumed it was the norm to get the spare cover for free.

Not sure I want to drive around as a mobile advertisement, but it'll keep the sun off for the time being! :)

Thanks mate. Yeah, nice one. I hear you but nice tough nonetheless.
I've gone the khaki/sand colour and show the missus and she wasn't impressed. Actually not many votes for the sand colour so far in my family.. oh well, thats what they'll be sitting on.

I have the sand in mu dark green defender I always get comments on the seats people think they look really nice...light grey in a dark car just simply wouldn't look right IMHO

I'm 100% with you there. The dark green and the sand look very nice together. I'm sure the dark blues and reds will look as good.

The gunmetal of the stornoway grey is a bit strange though as it's actually just a darker silver and I think the grey suits the colour better.

Must admit that with SWMBO's influence we seem to be sticking to a colour "theme" on tha car though, from grey to black and all shades in between...

I agree with those sentiments, however something so well made I could probably make an exception....
The brand new GG which has been sitting on the back of my vehicle out in the weather for almost 3 years is as hard as a rock now. I probably should have rotated them around, A bit late now as the GGs on the car are down to about 25%........
As for colour, I also agree, Stornaway Grey the only choice is grey:)

Yep. The green with sand colour is great.
How waterproof are the seat covers? I think it said water resistant?
Looking forward to the canvas though.
(is it normal to be so excited about seat covers?... )

I'm ordering a set this week although the freight price is nearly as much as the covers themselves
If anyone is interested in doing a group buy with me we could possibly get the freight cost down.

I am keen in sharing freight cost with you and prepared to buy now.
Like you i have received a quote for freight and almost doubles the price of covers.
Happy to work with you.

For 2 sets for 110 wagon ends up at 15,646 ZAR or $940.00/ea set.
Still very expensive

That’s a saving on the quote I got of $165.
A set of canvas seat covers from Black Duck driver and passenger only with Map pockets $353 not sure on the rear passenger for the Puma but looks like the same cost $353.
I am assuming they come with headrests postage and handling $16.50 total $722.00 against the M&Ms for $940. Are the M&Ms worth the extra couple hundred.
The M&Ms appear to have the name I know nothing about Black Duck any advice.

Don't know about black duck but MSA ones are $856 plus postage so the m&ms aren't sounding so bad.

Are you still keen if so how do you want to proceed.

Ouch! That's a huge amount of money to spend on something you plan to get dirty... :o
I saw a Defender with a really nice set of seat covers.. well fitted.. stylish.. rugged.. canvas and custom made.. from Autobarn of all places.. I got a quote (but haven't got around to buying any yet as I'm still undecided as to whether I want seat covers or not).. around $250.. not too bad.. doesn't come with a brand name but at that price I wouldn't moan.. :)

I ordered mine yesterday - sand colour going in the Stornoway Grey...controversial I know!

I also ordered a couple of bulkier items from them and when they told me the exorbitant air freight costs from Port Elizabeth, I asked them to quote for sea freight.

It'll take over a month to get here but it was a fraction of the price.

Definitely worth considering as it's a big saving and all it's going to cost is some patience and a pick-up from the Sydney sea port.

I paid full price in freight but with a work job I have just saved about $3000 in freight costs using Stockwells a freight forwarding company.
I tried to
Order 2 sets at once but one issue you'll have is GST coming into Australia. As soon as package is over $1000AU you get charged GST on the lot, so it has se problems if you order full sets.
Bloody expensive but for me it is well worth it. Think they look better than original seats. Cooler to sit on. Kids are doing their best to destroy but cannot.
Not that I ever want to sell but seeing seats completely smashed isn't going to give her a loved in look.

I got mine today. I won't be able to put them on until Saturday first thing...and I can't wait.
Is it worth washing them first or treating them at all?

Ordered mine today for our 110 & 90.
M&M got a really good rate for pickup from Brisbane Airport.
They have been more than helpful and can't wait to get our covers.

Their international service is improving in big leaps and bounds.

At ZAR8.00/AUD$1.00 M&M seat covers are VERY expensive in South Africa and their market share definitely lies in quality international service.

I've had mine on for 2 months now and even in the Pilbara heat they are some of the most comfortable surfaces I've sat on!

I've read the thread but I'm still a little confused.

What is the best way to get my hands on a set of M&M's - through M&M in SA or through an agent.

Dave,

Go the the website and shoot them an email asking for a quote for the covers to be sent to you directly - see what it ends up being. I think Loubrey is right, they're tryig to find cheaper air freight so it's worth seeing if you're prepared to pay the money to get them very quickly.

Of course, if you know someone in SA who's dying to visit Australia, then you're winning.

I put mine on this weekend and I love them...and so do my neighbours.
