I've got mates who love to show pics of their Patrols and Cruisers with 2 wheels off the ground or stuck halfway up a cliff face.
Has anyone got some cool pics of their II or IIa in a radical position?
I'd really like to see some unmodified Landys in those sort of situations.

I have a photo of my series 3 on 3 wheels, well technically 2 as only 2 were attached to the vehicle!

Not exactly what I had in mind but very cool.
BTW, where could I get myself one of those superb looking bull bars?
I live in the NSW Southern Tablelands about an hour from the ACT and we have a decent amount of roos who like nothing better than to play the expensive and frequently terminal sport of nocturnal car wrestling. :(

They were standard fittament to almost all australian army land rovers and bolt to the standard bumper bar wtih 2 stays to brackets welded on the chassis (for the series 2 type, the 2a type didn't have them).
It wasn't an optional position I found myself in, a wheel bearing failed at very low speed and the wheel rolled under the fuel tank.

I had to tie a rope with multiple truckie hitches to the hoop and back to stump to stop it falling over. Was fun driving out of it, there was a point of perfect balance on 2 diagonal opp wheels. :) Drowned the engine in a puddle later in the arvo:( Have since changed stuffed engine.

So is your Landy fairly standard apart from those wheels or are you running a V8 or different tranny?

I'm running the 2A box and transfer, standard LR rear diff(but will have high range Sals in soon) and a holden 179 bored to 186 (reco and only 2 weeks old)
mostly standard all round, looking for set of LR rims to get rid of the sunraysiers

Pretty impressive Phoenix!!! - but wrt bullbars, mine is a IIA and had the stays.
kombi - I have posted quite a few pics of my IIA offroad on AULRO, if that's what you are looking for. If doesn't get stuck though ;) so don't have any of those pics...
e.g. - drove right through this...

I hate to do Ron's job for him, but he seems to have missed this one.
It should be
Who's got their Series II/IIa into a bizarre position? (pics please)
The "who's" is an abbreviation of "who has", not the possessive pronoun.

Great pics!
Did you fit coil springs to make it do that?
Could you take some closer pics of the stuff strapped to your guards; shovel, etc.?
I already have holes there for the stuff but need to work out what straps and clips to buy to fit to them.
And does anyone know of a place in Sydney or Canberra I could pick up those straps/clips?

You can see the leaf springs on this image

If you cannot get them the next best thing would be to have them made up, try a saddlery they will definately be able to assist your needs.

Sorry there, of course they are leaf springs.
I'm a bit dozey and a newcomer to Landies.
Surely those aren't standard to flex like that?
Or is there something I don't know?
I do know that the suspension on my '68 IIa trayback Ute is about as stiff as the heirachy at a CWA scone baking afternoon!
BTW, are the straps metal or webbing or leather?
And which tools exactly are being held down?
It's hard to make out in the pics.

G'day All, The "straps" are pioneering tool holders as fitted to Series 2A >> 110 military Land Rovers, they crop up every now and then on ebay, but be prepared to part with some money $$$'s, his vehicle is a Series 2A 109 ex military, he may have done some spring work on it but from the pix they look standard cheers Dennis:wasntme:
PS I generally get mine twisted like this one LOL https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2008/09/913.jpg

In all honesty I cannot recall ever seeing one in a wierd position for long enough to take "the top bloke" picture, they just drive through the stuff the others get caught on.

Thanks for the comments kombi.
They are modified springs. I have posted a thread somewhere on what I have done. Should be able to find it with a search.
The questions on the tool brackets have been answered, but the tools are axe, shovel, pick (head and handle attached separately).
