When I go around a left hand corner, and then straighten up or immediately go around a right hand corner, i get an almighty thump from what seems like right under the drivers seat, it dos'nt do it from right to left, so only the drivers side, does anyone have an idea as to what's let go?.

Cheers,

Ray

It could be the Watts link, by the sounds of that description.

If you articulate the car does it thump as well?

Mine did this also when the ACE chassis bushes were worn.

gear box or engine mounts?

It seems tobe when there's flex in the chassis, but only when turning one way, will drop into Coopers and get them to have a look.

cheers for your help,

Ray

Mine did the same,
thanks to Slunnie I put in new Ace bushes about $4.00 ea now no problem.
The bushes were buggered.
An easy 30 minute job front and back

Oh, the other thing that will do this is the chassis body mounts behind the front wheels. They crack.

FYI for those who helped, it was a rear swaybar bush aparently, Coopers fixed it last week, along with ABS, HDC,TC lights ( wheel speed sensor ) so i now have plain old unlit dashboard and a Discovery with no thumps.

cheers again,

Ray

Thanks Ray,
Its great for getting back to us with a solution:thumbsup:

I have been watching with interest as I have introduced this thump after installing the lift. For a while there I thought there might be some serious damage caused by the installation process.

Cheers.
