Series 2A handbrake

Can anyone tell me if the early type Series 2A handbrake lever (tubular with chrome button) should be straight or cranked. Mine has an approx. 10 deg bend (upwards) about half way along, whereas my parts book shows it straight.

Slight bend is correct, bend just in front of the seat box. I haven't measured it but 10 degrees would be about right.
