Can someome put me out of my missery and tell me where i can track down a centrifugal air cleaner for a series 1 80 inch, i have just been on google for over an hour and i admit defeat, i thaught i read once that a common tractor engine has them or something.
On a good note paul at vintage wiring loom has finnished the new wiring loom for my half dingo looking thing taking up space in the garage down stairs and i should have it shortly. cheers. Anthony

Slightly off track, the cyclonic pre-filter used on 80" and 1954/55 86" are the same as the ones on the Ferguson Te20 (grey Fergy) tractors. These are frequently missing from 80" Landies because they got in the way when pulling the battery in and out.

For the whole oil bath air-cleaner assembly, you need to keep an eye out on the Epay or keep a look out in wreckers etc. I bought a nice looking one on ebay a couple of years ago, but the paint used by the vendor merely fell off.
The things to look out for in particular are the elbow on the air cleaner and the one on top of the carby. The one for your 1951 should be oval, earlier ones are round.

Regarding the elbows, the one for your 1951 that sits on top of the carby is one of the flattened circles (or oval) going to the air cleaner hose with a little pipe coming out the side for the crankase breather. The 1952 and onwards to 1955 have no breather pipe as they have crankcase and rocker cover breathers.
The up to early 1950 ones were a round tube elbow.
Regarding the elbow on the air cleaner, these are all round tube, but the 1949 to end of 1951 had the little pipe for the rocker cover breather. (Again 1952 onwards didn't have the breather.) They secure to the aircleaner with 2 clamps and wing nuts. The really rare 1948 ones have a little twist mechanism that secures the clamps.
Await your garage sale with interest! :) :) :)
