Can you put a flashable ECU from the D2a TD5, into the Early Disco 2 TD5:confused:

Sorry if it's been asked before;)

Yes the later ECU can be used in the early disco. An ECU from a auto can be used in a manual but most manuals have an the ECU that can't be used in an auto.

You would need to have the ecu programed to suit your throttle switch (2 pot or 3 pot) as well as the injector codes.

All that is available to buy new now is the NNN prefix flashable ECU. I would say that there shouldn't be a problem, making sure the D2 is the same configuration as the donor ECU, IE auto / manual etc.

If you get a flash ecu

NNN000120 it will work on defender and discovery manuals
NNN500020 will work on the same
NNN000130 Auto discoverys
NNN500030 Auto discoverys
NNN500250 manual discoverys.

The auto types will work on the manual cars butmay show some fault because the CAN system is otneeded on the manual version cars.

You will also need to make sure that the ecu is programed with the correct fuling files as they are different from EU2 early cars toEU3 later model cars, again they will runon eachother but some have side affects.

The injector codes and security will also need adding to the new ecu.
