Hi guys, don't post much here, but do a lot of reading.
I have a 1985 range rover classic and I'm looking at replacing the stock front seats with something more comfortable.
Has anybody done this and have any pointers for me? I guessing there has got to be a few blokes on here that have done this.
I'm mostly concerned about how easy they are to replace. My previous rangie 2 door had some falcon seats in it, but I never bothered to take note of how they were installed.:( I was thinking of keeping an eye on ebay for some nice buckets out of a Jap sports car.

I looked at this, but the main problem was you need an engineers cert to change the seats. I think most people just replace the seats and hope they get away with it.

I am in the middle of getting my seats from an '87 Rangie re-trimmed. They are going to bolster up the sides on the seat and ack so they are more like racing seats and offer a bit more support.

I found the elctric leather front seats from a Honda accord EXi to be very comfortable and cheap to buy, but the engineering side of things could be a bit of a pain:(

What is so difficult about getting them engineered? My mate's father is an engineer so I would be going to him to get it done.

JC, did you have to modify anything or did the seats just bolt right in?

I stuck some leather seats from an 88 in.

They bolted straight up to the bases, but for some retarded reason the passenger seat is almost 2 inches further left than the one I removed.
