Hi,
I need to replace the battery on my Defender 110. I am planning on puttign dual battery in at a later stage but need to know what size/make/model battery I should buy. I only want to buy the one now and will get another later, preferrably the same batteries.
Where should I go for best prices in Sydney and what is a heavy duty battery that could work to power fridge etc?

Have a look around the archives, there are a few photos/tutorials for dual battery setups in Defenders.
I have just been through this, and to me, the hassle of trying to shoehorn 2 batteries under the passenger seat was just too great.
I have an N70ZZ start battery under the seat, and a 90Ah Deep-Cycle battery mounted in the back behind the cargo barrier. Another good spot might be under the back seat.
It would be nice if you could get a low-height deep-cycle AGM or similar to fit in the box under the driver's seat.
Regards
Scott

Many will probably disagree but I've had a good run out of the common old Exide/Champion EXTREME. It's all I use for both main and second battery now.
The 50EX size was $180 or thereabouts from Repco.
As for size its the biggest you can shoehorn in the space I guess.

Moving some of the elecs to the rear of the battery compartment I have run two AC Delco 105Ah batteries, although now run one start battery due to intended upgrade. The big batteries have enough CCA for the motor and last a long time.
