Hi all,

Major dilemma here, ive just had a call from a mate who wants to give me an 89 vogue, its a gold 4 door with brown leather interior and a 3.9 auto, he is also giving me an 84 carbied 3.5 manual.

So i have a 2door with a near new 4.4 carbied and all the accessories, maxi locker and 33" tyres.

So do i build the vogue to be a nice comfey great off roader or do i rebuild it or even sell all the bits.....

as you can see major drama any thoughts about advantages of those who have built a late model beast or those who would sell the bits.....

thanks in advance.

The 89 can be build to do all the 2 door can.
I do have a soft spot for them but doors are a pain.
getting very old now and I also don't like the 4.4.
They are similar but not same as rangie motors.

I say go the 89, sell 2 door and with cash, do a locker, new tyres, some electrical repairs, and they always need those, perhaps fit a gas system and go cruising and take it bush as well. Way more comfy as far as I am concerned.
The 3.9L is very thirsty, keep that in mind, around 20L and more.

Enjoy, make a decision and stick to it.

Go the RRC 89.

Go the 89 4 Door. One of the best Rangies made.

Without knowing what you already have, as far as everyday cars or bush trucks, it's a bit hard to advise.

If it was me, I would make the 89 into a daily driver and the 2 door into a bush truck.

In fact, I am doing just that, I bought a 2 door for a project, then bought an 89 Vogue already built for the bush, but have now decided the 89 is too good for the bush and want to make it into my daily driver. My 2 door is stripped and being built into a pure off road truck.
