Hi Mick

Try All Four x 4 Spares Home (http://www.allfourx4.com.au/) for a second hand stub axle. I got one for about $100 when my rear bearing let go a few weeks back. Wheel bearing kits, which include the seal, were $60 from them. However they are cheaper from here WHEEL BEARING KIT- LANDROVER / RANGE ROVER wbk4155 - eBay, Other Car Parts, Accessories, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. I'm about to do the rest of mine so I don't get any more suprises ;)

It must be discovery's and spring dont go together. crook starter motor, alternator, power steer pump and more oil leaks than I can keep off the drive with a catch can have all appeared recently...

Geez that's alright! I'm sure mine was a bit over $100

If you don't mind telling, how much did you get a pair of bearing kits for? And who from? All the local mobs up here want $80-85 PER WHEEL! :o

These guys seem reasonable to: Land Rover parts - HUB SEALS & BEARINGS - DISC 1 (http://www.roverparts.com.au/hub_seals___bearings___disc_1?b=1) but still have to pay for shipping

Hi Mate . I got the bearings and seal from Four Wheel Drives - Land Rovers New and Used Spare Parts - Home (http://www.fwd.com.au) . It was just over $60 per set plus about $10 postage . I got bearings to do both front wheels .

Hey Fusion,

Did you get any warning before the bearings blew? noise, vibration, etc?

My ABS light came on not long before mine went bang. I'm guessing because the bearing was already coming apart and allowing some movement in the rotor :( Hence the need for a new stub axle

I got the Timken bearings to do mine for $40/wheel from my local bearing shop (only changed rears as they were muddy rusty, front were fine). Plus the cost of RTC3511 seals of which the front seals came from FWD and the rear ones from Paddocks.

Hi Mate . I got a bit of noise and the brake pedal neally went to the floor from the rotor moving .

Thats why your stub axle cost more than mine ..... I don't got ABS ;).
