I think I stuffed up - homebrew

Landie Andy, or should that be Fusion. I need your help buddy I think I have stuffed up my first kegs. :(

I bought a CO2 cylinder from ebay. BOC wouldn't fill it. The pommie bas$%rds won't fill it unless you rent a cylinder from them. Complete rip off. Found the local fire services mob filled it no worries, cash $20 job done.

Now I find the connectors are different. No worries I'll sort it. My problem is that I bought a mini CO2 setup that I can use at the holiday place. When I found out the big cylinder connectors wouldn't mate I used the small 12g mini CO2 with the trigger on the in post of my keg. Then after hammering away with the trigger I read the instructions (typical bloke). It says as it's full just a little gas would be enough. I thought after all our previous messages a good blast and 48 hours would charge it with gas.

Have I totally screwed up ? Can I leave it or do I need to release the pressure on the top release valve.

Mick thanks a lot for all your advice and help, much appreciated. I'm really sorry to hear of the black dog mate, swmbo had it and I know how debilitating it was. You'll beat it mate.

buy it from a shop in bottles,
it's easier, healthier, doesn't involve dangerious tecniques, no bottle washing, no stuffed brews, no effort.

Now wheres the fun in that, and i doubt its healthier, ive never had a hangover from homebrew but had plenty from commercial product.

Martin,from your post Im guessing you overgassed the beer??? OK turn the CO2 off,release keg pressure.Leave overnite and test pour,if its still over pressure vent the keg again.Once pouring correctly re introduce CO2 at a very low pressure.The beer will expell the CO2 with the bottle shut.I overgassed 1 or 2 of my first attempts.
Harry,you need to try some kegged homebrew,not only easypeasy,its commercial quality!!!!

Exactly what I did and followed your instructions and now it's all fixed up. Thanks.

Harry, give it a go mate it is miles better than the crappy VB I was drinking before and it doesn't have any of the "normal" you can tell it's homebrew smell or taste. Out of the keg it's sensational. Even swmbo raves about it and she's a tough nut to crack.

Lived in Adelaide for a couple of years when we first came over, had to move for work.

Coopers is good, used to drink it, I now think of it as cloudy homebrew that's not quite as tasty !
