G'day guys,

just wondering if anybody knows or has a back seat installed in their SWB? is it even possible? or to much work? i have never seen anything like it in a landy but i know the SWB pootrols have a nice little fold up seat in the back that would be perfect for car seat when in family mode and could fold up when in work/play mode.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Pete (Redoctober) on here used to have a SIIA SWB with a small rear seat (large enough for his 2 sons). I can't remember what the seat was from, but the conversion was fully engineered in QLD.

Hi

I have done this and had an engineered seat put into the back of my Series III SWB. This allowed me to carry to kids in the back. However the seat was not removable and effectively removed most of the carrying capacity of the vehicle. Ultimately I bought a LWB vehicle to solve the problem as the alternative solution (selling the kids) was ruled out by SWMBO.

couldn't a fold forward set of seats like the ones in the back of a jeep wrangler etc be used to fit in? I know fernuckolated used to have a similar setup in the back of his 2a LWB.

found an answer from one of the UK forums. which is PERFECT.

check it out!

Exmoor Trim & Trakkers (http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/)

go to the series II/III menu on the left hand side and check out the load area seats.

Cheers for all your answers guys.

Like 1984V8110 I have installed a seat in the back of my Game. The seat came out of a Patrol (third row dicky seat) I paid $200 for the seat and seat belts, and it cost about $500 for the engineer to look at it. There is enough room for adults to sit reasonably comfortable, but you can't see much out of the windows. It is ideal for kids though.

Cheers, Mick.

I recently pulled one out of my S111 shorty complete and turned the other into a spare wheel carrier( just temp until i build a swing out) you are welcome to it if you want. it has a fold up base which a cushion sits in .They are guninne ex land rover ok for kids but a bit uncomfortable if are an adult.
