Guys, am thinking of getting my dream mobile.
Newish model L322.
have started seeing them dip below 50k in diesel form and like to know from knowlegdeable what are the service costs.
Does my usual Rangie spanner man handle it or does it really need the factory people to plug and play.
I am a project manager for a construction company and used it around town and weekend trips with family.
Current ride is a 94 Disco and is great>
Silly to change just my car allowance does fit the bill I just could not bare to pay huge amounts to service people.
I do love that model though.
Bring it on-- I Think----

Hi Big_Guy (= Frank??)
I've got an 03 L322 and whilst I've had all the warranty work done by Solitaire it has been serviced by Sovereign Motors in town. Last service interval was 110,000Km, and it cost $390. Am coming up for 120,000Km, so perhaps that will be more. They have a testbook thingy to check the electrics and codes and so on.
I haven't regretted buying it at all but having said that it is now a month out of warranty so I am on my own when anything goes bung. It has had a few major things replaced earlier in its life, such as a new suspension pump and a new turbo (which was seeping oil - they just replaced the whole thing).
It's been a great car for touring. Extremely economical and heaps of room. If you can get one for around $50K you're doing pretty well.
Cheers

I have been quoted $400 for a minor and around $900-1500 for a major, the skinny is $2500pa for service.....must be a hard plug for the computer jock or labour removing all the plastic bits to get to the motor...I lifted the bonnet looked, smiled and shut it again:D:D

Thats not too bad I guess.
Most cars over $100k new cost that to service.
I will sit and wait a little.
Too scared to take one for a test just in case I like it tooo much.

I've been getting quoted similar on my 03 v8 - ~$400 for the minor and $900-1000 for a major from an independant specialist with all the testbook toys provided nothing unexpected needs doing.
If you do get one i'd recommend holding out for the Vogue spec as opposed to an HSE. The extra cost/trouble of finding one is worth it for the better front seats on their own, let alone the rest of the toys.

Hmmm VOGUE
Always reminds me of a chick flick magazine though.
Had a couple of vogue models before, they are better spec-- Will keep in mind.
Search begins at end of year.
