Hey there, was just wondering if we have an aulrovian in brisbane that works in the steel industry and has access to a cnc profile cutter, plasma, laser or water would be best. ( they cut real nice).
I need a fuel tank, and at $400 plus NO WAY, I can make 6 of them for that price. I have the oxy, tig and stick welder here at home. So if anyone can cut the profiles I'll measure the cutting list off my stuffed tank. Me (mechanic) and my son (boilermaker) will make them, if anyone wants one cost of materials and tig gas is all I need to recover.
Cheers everyone
Jason
Also if anyone needs to borrow any welding gear come on over or I'll come to you for the cost of the fuel.
Inverter tig/stick and oxy gear available.

Can't help you mate, but thought I would say thanks for offering your help to all and sundry. :)

It's what makes AULRO a better place. :D

Olive Drab If you want to measure things I have 3 tanks not in cars.
Stock Land rover tank, don't know what its out of but minor mod to brackets and it fits my 93 RR
Long Ranger tank about 112L to suit later RR clasic and home made tank to suit earlier RR classic about 100L

Too bad you aren't down here in Sydney. The company I'm now doing some work for gets all their brackets laser cut from stainless steel. It's all CNC and the quality is excellent and not expensive.

I'm about to get a batch of brackets made up for a an EAS kit I'm about to put together (more cheaply than what is currently being charged).

I thought about getting SS water tanks made up to fit behind the rear seats on the P38A and maybe other LRs (not RR classics as there is already a 75 litre plastic tank made for them.

I've got access to the panbrake to do the bending but I can't weld well enough. I had a look on the weekend at SS water tanks but at over $500 each.....

Now has anyone got some cheap used SS urinals I can cut up. :p

We have just bought a 50amp plasma cutter off ebay (waiting on arrival)
And plan on buying a tig and making a larger fuel tank for the county, will start a thread on it when we do so.
