Does anybody know what this strip is called? and how much a new one will cost??? ( see pic )

The actual part number might change depending on your model Defender but it should be AWR5988 which is available from your local LR dealer for approx $40.

Its for a 1996 DC.

Its for a 1996 DC.

This is off a 1995 300TDi. I don;t think there were any differences in this area. Someone else may have an opinion.

1995 - 1996 are interchangeable according to the EPC.

They're not the same part number but the 1995 part (MTC6166) supercedes to the 1996 part (AWR5988).
