can anoyne tell me if there is a difference between the civvy and military chassis dimensions at points "N" and "Q" or are the shackles the only difference.
Borrowed the pic from Dave's trailer thread.
Thanks in advance to the aulro brainstrust.

Since the military chassis has alternative holes for shackle pins in the standard position as well as the lower ones, it simply a matter of measuring the distance between the two. And, in the dark, using a torch and a school ruler, the answer is pretty close to 40mm.

Hi Mate , the mil chassis is close to the 2 inches higher mark than the civvy chassis . The army welded on longer hangers and used longer shackles . I can take a couple of pics if you like of the mil chassis .

some pics would be good. I made my own shackles, thought I would try 6" hole centres instead of the 4" I took off. The new caster angle makes it steer real nice but the 2" extension looks like it might be a bit angry for the front shaft. I was actually trying to get some more room for the slipjoint on the rear shaft. I'll see how it goes. Won't be too much of a prob I think, most of my offroad stuff is done pretty slowly.

The Mil chassis also has a small section cut out in the cross member at the front of the transfer case to stop the drive shaft hitting on articulation . I'll get a pic of that too . ;)
