Disco 3.9 or 4.0L?

I have a question, is the 3.9 actually the exactly same motor as the 4.0L

I have a 94 3.9 and just been offered a 04 HSE.

I like to give it some more power though and also run gas.

Alternatively, shall I wait to get the 05 rangie with the 4.4 litre or a D3 with same?

The Gas for the D3 is still so exp.

The 4.0 will have cross-bolted mains bearings and if it's an '04 then it will have the thor manifold and later injection. Hence more power and torque. Apart from that they are very similiar to the 3.9.

Wish I was in your shoes re deciding between 4.4 Rangie and D3, both fantantic pieces of engineering
