Problem of buying new def 110

Hi guys,
I need a new defender before 24th of this Nov, I called Mel city LR, they told me if I put an order today, the vehicle could be delivered in next Jan, how could it take so long? Is there anywhere else I could get the car?

There are about 8 secondhand ones around. And there are a few demo models interstate.

Why do you need it so urgently?

Yes - they do (can) take a while to arrive once ordered. These are hand made vehicles and as such are not made in huge numbers. Added to that LR Australia tend to be very conservative on how many they order as general stock.

I waited 10 month for mine - but ordered it just after the TD5 had become "redundant" - and I use that term in the nicest possible way. :)

Try ringing all the dealerships throughout Australia if it's really that urgent - there are plenty up here in Brisbane at Austral motors as I understand it.

I am pretty sure Sutton Motors in Alice Springs has one in the yard. Ring Terry (Dealer Principal) and ask. 08 8952 1334. Tell him Jon told you to ring, I used to work there.

Mine took just under 5 months from date of order.

There were no demonstrators at that time.

The 110 at Suttons (Alice Springs) is white - plus it is probably the best dealer in the country.

Try a vehicle purchasing agent - ie. middle-man. They often have relationships with multiple dealers and can wangle inter-dealership transfers. We used a purchaser to get ours and they went through a regional dealer who in turn did a couple of transfers with other dealers to get the colour we wanted from non customer-assigned incoming stock.

Trivett Land Rover - City Branch (Sydney) ... had access to a black 7 seater a few weeks ago. It was on their floor ready for delivery. They also had a white demonstrator, as did Trivett Paramatta.

Melbourne City LR have a white demo 08 model in their yard according to their website. $53K on the road.

My son fell in love with it.
The SVX's are actually here..just held up for a bit. End of next week is the word.
