Do we get these in Australia?
I spotted this in Carlisle last week but can't remember having seen one before with so many doors and such a short wheelbase. :)

There were a small number (about twenty I think) of V8s built for the bicentennial authority in 1987. These were the first dual cab 110s anywhere, and you still see a few about (I saw one in Dubbo a week ago).
There have also been a few conversions of wagons of various vintages, some of which have appeared in this forum. In addition, I have an idea that the 110 dual cab was briefly sold in Australia shortly after its introduction in the UK, some time in the last ten years or so, but sales seem to have been very low, and it is no longer available.

Yeah, its a 110 Double Cab - similar to my daily drive... complete with an old style 1.7m Patriot Roofrack.

It is a TD5(so not a bicentenial model) and they are not Aussie numberplates.Tourists on a world trip????
I thought a few were brought to aussie for evaluation but never ended up as a model sold here.

They haven't been available locally in all the time I've been involved with LR (since 1989). There's a few nice conversions around though - one came on a Yalwal trip recently :).

You can buy soft top 90's, 110 wagons and 110 Dual cabs in Hong Kong where I live. They are in RHD and as far as I know, own for one year and then can transfer back to OZ.... Thought about it as I live hear but just dont have that disposable income... bloody nice though!

I would just like to add that they are beautiful defenders!
They are a standard option from the looks of the UK website.
Looks like i'll be doing an 18 month working trip in the UK!
Cheers!

Alternatively, you could buy one and park it on my drive for 18mths... I'd obviously have to take it for a drive every now & then to make sure the batteries stay charged.

Here is a photo of my 1986 110 dual cab. As you say there were only about 20 of them made here for the Bicentennial authority to tow 5th wheelers around the country for the exhibition in 1988. I put a roof over the rear and added canvas curtains to keep the dust out. A really good combination in the 110. Bearman.

That's right. I was assuming the numberplate would serve as an indication that I was in the UK.
I have just come to the end of six weeks in the UK and a few countries on the continent.
That is why I have been a bit quiet lately. The last three days for example I was too busy looking at some of the incredible architecture in Barcelona to have time to search for internet access.
