David, PM C.H.T, he has done this to his 110.
He is very happy with it too!
Search will give you a lot of hits, especially in the Isuzu section where He posted most of the info on his conversion:)

I have seen several posts that gave details of a company in Sydney area that have fitted several 4BD1's to rangies, and IIRC they also do the 4BD1 to R380 conversion.
If you search here you should be able to find them.
Be aware that early R380's can suffer from broken mainshafts. Later models have improved this and have larger bearings.

John ( Bush65 ) I suspect you may be referring to KRL automotive in Sydney , I have spoken to them a while back about a Rangie conversion to 4BD1T.

WOW!! Great web site, very informative. NOT!
What did they tell you about the conversion?
What boxes can they adapt to fit to a 4BD1?
I am putting one in a rangie and haven't decided which box I am using. I am thinking about going auto, with a TH700r4.
Dunno?!?:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Another place to try is British Offroad in Brisvegas a call, they convert the LT85 bellhousing to suit the R380 gearbox, last time i spoke to them it was about $900 plus the cost of the bellhousing's if they supplied them.
Hope this helps

I have an R380 behind a 4BD1T - working brillianltly - nearly 45000ks in just over 12 months and no problems with the gearbox. British Off Road now have the means to convert LT 85 bellhousings to suit. PM me your phone number and I can go over the traps for the unwary with you
