Hi Now have 2 spare compressors that work on a independtant power but soon as you plug them into the system no go. As i understand the system several things stop the compressor. Door open, foot on brake, enough preasure, speed sensor and last heat sensor. We pluged in a new compressor and all is working fine. so i guess that points us to the heat sensor in the compressor. Can you help ? has any one striped one down do we know how it works what it looks like is it an easy part to purchase. I will have a go at pulling one down this weekend to see what makes it tick any hints would be helpfull and keep you posted. Thanks Ron:)

Ron,

You can bypass the heat sensor by grounding one of the wires from the sensr in the motor itself. I have done this before. If I remember correctly the compressor motor has 4 wires, power, earth and one of the other 2 is the sense wire to tell the ECU to turn off power to the compressor when resistance is at a particular point (of temp?). If you earth this wire, the system thinks the compressor is below cut out temp and allows it to run.
I seem to remember just cutting it and soldering a lug to one end that I then earthed to one of the bolts holding the compressor housing cover on.

It's been OK for about 3 years now.

A RAVE diagram will help determine which one.
