Did all D1's have the rubber doughnut or just the update 's ? Mine has got some small splits starting to show so either need a good 2nd hand one or a tailshaft with uni from either an early D1 or RRC.

Could always just buy a new one?
Just the updates had rubbers, any shaft will fit, includeing from LT95:eek:
Keeping in mind, you need to change the pinion yolk, to accomodate for the differing flange;)

Strangely, some of the V8 1998/ 99 (WA chassis number )D1's I have seen have the unijoint fitted I have 3 that I work on like that.. As soon as D2 (XA chassis number) came along, all went back to the donut coupling . All the others seem to have the donut, updates only of course.
As matt said, just replace it, unless you have a big lift. They only last on average about 6 to 8 years or about 100K.

There is a good write up on Discoweb about changing the yoke over.
Here's the link, but it's not working for me: http://www.discoweb.org/rotoconversion/index.htm

The donut on my D1 was getting changed too often after the lift so I changed over to the uni when the rear diff locker went in.

Lift is close to 3" and i would rather put a uni shaft in than buy a new doughnut, V8landy i will pm you, if you have a good one i'll take it, i'm going to Toolangi in 2 weeks and i reckon if i dont have a spare on board it will go for sure.
