Anyone hazard a guess at the expected life of this little fella ?
Tempted just to order one and slot in for a test to see how slow a 6mm enclosed type is.
800 milliseconds response is pretty damned quick :eek:

Smoky Yunick reckoned if the turbo casing wasn't hot enough to see the impeller then the mixture was pretty good (turbo Offys). You sometimes couldn't tell if he was serious or tongue in cheek. He had his own opinions and thoughts on may motor design and tuning subjects, and unfortunately for his detractors and there were many, he was usually correct.

I use an enclosed tip probe with a digital display gauge and have no complaints with response time. Its pretty much instant - ie the slightest change in throttle position will see instant changes on the gauge with zero lag. I normally prefer analoge displays for gauges, but for a pyro, I reckon digital is the go.

If you already have a digital gauge, I doubt it would be possible to notice any improvement by going to an exposed tip probe, if you have an analogue guage, you might be better off changing to digital display for the best improvements in 'response'.

Mark, this is a follow up from a recent discussion in another thread of the lag time on 3mm vs 6mm probes.

It is said that a 6mm probe won't respond fast enough to instant peak readings that could be damaging.
I tend to feel that the rate at which mine reads going up a hill I should still be on the safe side, but this would eliminate all uncertainty.
