I require a couple of new keys as mine are getting worn, but i want the new keys to have the plastic on, not just a blank chunk of metal, can i purcahse then , or do i have to go to a LR dealer.
And if i wanted to replace Ignition and front door locks with a brand new set, what would i bee locking at cost wise? and is it a big job?

Less than $10 from a dealer for the genuine part. Retail is around $7.50.

you mean just for the key?Yes.

The lockset $$ depends on which model Defender you have.
Most Defenders have a separate key for ign, doors & fuel so there isn't an actual 'set' for those.

You can also call any LR dealer with your vin and get the key profile codes, the locksmith can then cut the new key to the original profile, not to the filleting knife profile the key has worn down to.
