Can anybody tell me where the crank angle sensor is on a man TD5 D2????
Had "noisy crank sensor" come up on nanocom 4 times now so Ive ordered a replacement for peace of mind.
Also ordered a new AFM so hopefully I finally get on top of BlackBettys drinking habit:cool::cool::cool::cool:

G'day Andrew,
Located drivers side top of bellhousing, if viewed from the rear of the vehicle it would be at about 1 oclock, back from the bellhousing bolts about 2 inches.
SOMETIMES, a leaking fuel block MAY contaminate the connector with diesel, but it has tio be a pretty big leak to mist back that far. I have seen diesel in the plug when I have unplugged them though. Also, oil from a contaminated main wiring harness can enter the plug and cause havoc.
I have heard of people having had new ones fitted to their manual vehicles, strangely AFTER a flywheel has been replaced:mad: IE when removing the flywheel they have possibly damaged the end of the sensor...and charged the customer for a new one.

Thanks JC.
It may have diesel contamination from when the fuel block went a couple of years ago.Going with the idea of replace it now,got a working if sometimes suspect spare.
Will remember to get them to remove the sensor before removing the crutch when I get it done, thanks for the tip.
Andrew
