For those of you interested in these things--
after Toogoolawa we not only had a roll,, but had a blue smoke cloud after boost.
car ran ok, used a little oil, we diagnosed it as a blown, or nearly blown turbo.
last week Russell had the turbo rebuilt and buggar me if the same blue smoke cloud didnt appear:mad:
Off with the head!
hmm, melted pistons!!!
we managed to source the correct set from Rallyart in Melbourne at a reasonable 800 a set, gave the bores a quick hone, some new bearings and back together it went.
Then off to the DYNO!!!
He did a couple of things, lessened the fuel down low, cut us back to 6000rpm, as the injectors couldnt handle the fuel over that. cleaned up the program(whatever that means) and bingo, another 30kws from when we drove in,, and
wait for it
over 500nm's of torque.
in a vehicle that weighs around 800kgs,,
:D:D:D:D:D
cant wait for the prologue on saturday:burnrubber::woot::woot:
