TIM.With Bass we couldn't do a thing wrong, A good few Yellowbelly weighed in too but we couldn't within cooee of one. The Domestic Engineer took out the Ladies trophy in our fishing club for the weekend outing so all is good on the homefront.

Anthony.

It's a bit hard to cop but out of 35 people, nobody thought to take a camera. Too busy packing important stuff like fishing rods and eskies and I think there were more of the latter. I can also tell you from experience that those Tackleback lure retriever things don't work uphill.

Anthony.

depends whether you are just doing it for fun but you dont want them to big because thats when they start to get preggas i think 25cm-30cm are the best tasting.

I'm in it mainly for the sport so catch and release is the go :)
Sometimes I'll take one or two for the table as I think freshly caught Aussie Bass are at the top of the list for a great tasting and flesh texture fish .
As for the sport side of it - the bigger - the better !!
Catching a 5 pound Bass and releasing it to fight another day is a fantastic experience and I've taken a few mates to Glenbawn with great success .
Love the place

Good question about fishing trips :)
I think the 'Fishing Shack' should have it's own section for organising a fishing trip for all States in Australia .
It's a specialist type of trip - so would 'look out of place' in the other sections of the forum that have general trips listed as upcoming events .
How about a new section in the 'Fishing Shack' for 'Fishing Trips' ;)
Just an idea .
All feedback appreciated .

Old mate 'Terry' was so surprised by an early morning strike !
And he got another nice one as the Sun came up !
Then a shot of me with a four pounder that we kept for the table that evening ,

Yeah - - The Cod are in there - but pretty hard to catch :)
I actually got one on a Manns 20+ on the Western Bay and after a 30 minute fight he came to the surface then went way down deep and broke me off in the snags :(

I'm heading up there again towards the end of Sept. If there's fish this time there will be pics. But in the meantime, any clues to how the fishing's been up there ?.
Cheers,
Anthony.

The fishing has been a bit 'quiet' through the Winter months up there .
September onwards should see things improve as the temperatures rise in the Dam .
I'd advise trolling with deep diver lures at the start of the season and try different colours till you get a strike :ohyes:

Fished friday arvo, sat. morn and arvo and this morning for a grand total of 1 Bass weighing in at a whopping 350grams. I would have taken a photo but I didn't think my camera could zoom in on something that small. A far cry from my previous visit.
Cheers,
Anthony.

Trolled and threw hardbodies, threw surface crawlers and poppers at daybreak and I also used soft plastics.
