ECW map problems

I have purchased an iPAQ 312, and I am having difficulty with maps in ECW format, which I believe the iPAQ should support (ARM processor). Within Oziexplorer CE I get the error message "ECW DLL could not be found or loaded".

Thinking that I needed Img2ozf to convert the maps, I downloaded and installed it on the desktop PC, but on trying to convert the ECW maps, I get a similar message re. missing ECW DLL's.

Any ideas, anyone - bear in mind that I am a complete beginner as far as Oziexplorer is concerned, and the website does not seem to be very helpful for this problem.

While OziCE does support ECW, you're better off using the 250k maps in ozf2 format. Download the Img2Ozf converter from The Official OziExplorer Web Site - GPS Mapping Software for Magellan, Garmin, Lowrance, Eagle, MLR Receivers (http://www.oziexplorer.com) and convert each map, then copy them over. Not only will the maps in that format load quicker and have better zoom levels, but it'll fix that problem for you too.

For desktop Ozi to support ECW you need the ECW dll which you can find here:
