Hi, I am seriously considering purchasing a P38A. I ahve been told that although they may face a few issues the one issue that is putting me off is an issue with overheating due to something with cylinders and it is ok to purchase if they have been step sleeved????

If anyone can shed anymore info on this that would be awesome.

I got an idea.
Take 3 panadols and have a good sleep.

If P38 symptoms persist, see a professional.
If still having problems, do a search on many past threads.

best of luck, they are great whilst they are going.

just bought one tonight ... '98 HSE. planning
open up exhaust system by clearing out cat converter, junk middle box for small oval, junk end box for resonator
rebuild compressor and new isolation rubbers
low profile alloy front bar powder coated and bash plates
Gen III airbags & 2" spacers with fast flex sway bar links
maybe some head work and chip of some description
rear alloy bar powdercoated

my only real concern is how to get "el sluggo" up and honking, any suggestions as to best options for results ???

Obviosly!!!!!!!!!!

Wish you best with new wheels all the same.

After the above mentioned mods, you may struggle to resell down the track, no dealer will certainly touch it modified like that.

These cars are best left mostly original.

Still, enjoy the journey.

Well Done Tassie.
Like your thoughts. I too pimped my HSE II. 22inch rims 35 mm. Tinted windows, Bull Bar, 2.5 inch straight system, multi point gas, But... 7K on a SUPERCHARGER will give us 40% more power and more fuel efficiency! We know whats go'n on!!!

Not to start a war.... but if you have 22 inch road rims why does it need a Bullbar?:wasntme:

I took panadol, nurofen, the lot but still got one as they are a car i have wanted for many years, ever since i saw my first one in about 97.

I brought mine with the expectation of it being a keeper, and it will be. Especially once the new motor goes in.

- You don't buy a P38 for the resale value.
- Be prepared to spend time with the car
- be prepared to spend money on her
- be prepared to spend LOTS LOTS and Lots of cash if you can't work on it yourself

Nothing really compares to it, and no i can't tell you what it is, but these cars just have a feel about them, that your driving somehing different.

Research, research, talk to specialists, and GET IT CHECKED by an expert.
