As some of you know I'm upgrading my Diffs/Axles etc.
I had a search of the site for the pinion bearing numbers and came up with this,
For those that would like to change the pinion bearings the gear side Cone is a HM801436 the cup is a HM801310, the yoke side bearing cone is a HM88046 and the cup a HM88010. These are standard Timken numbers that any bearing house should be able to cross to the bearing they supply.
and this,

Ok I thought both part numbers are the same, so I headed off down to a bearing shop. I had no problems with the yoke side, bearing cone HM88046 and the cup a HM88010.
But the gear side bearing was a different story. The bloke thought I had the numbers mixed up (he thought it might have been HM801463 I think it was) so asked me to come home and double check. So I looked up on the site again and came up with the same numbers. Having a spare pinion with bearing attached in the garage (which is no good to me) I thought I would go and remove that and see what the numbers were on that. The serial number on that was HM801436X
I rang up the bearing shop and they told me that that is a different bearing again.
So which is the correct bearing? HM801436, HM801436X or HM801463?? I'm guessing it would be one of the first two, just want to confirm which.
TIA
Dannie
