Anyone know anything about the above
Compressor runs for a little while and stops, about 3mins
I have bridged the t/stat out, still same
Could it be the t/x valve??
What refrigerant do these use??
Cheers Pete

Most of these small compressors have a small overheat protection device on them. In the old days it was a bi-metal 'klixon' type switch, nowdays it's a termistor going back to the controller
After it has been running for 3 mins is the compressor hot ?
If not try and locate the klixon or thermistor and move it away from the compressor and see if that works.
Depending on age the refrigerant would either be R12 or R134a - unfortunately they haven't moved into the 21st century yet and started to use R600a (well they have in Europe, but not in AU or the US)
As Dave said it wont be the TX valve - they don't have them - they use capillary control

i dont have an engel, but mine does the same thing. When the car is running its fine. But when you have stopped there is to much voltage drop over the system to run the fridge properly so it drops into power saver mode, i need to run a new system with thicker wire. Matt

the swing motor on the engel will run no matter what the voltage is 'just won't get as cold, no low voltage cut out fitted
