Hey all,
Recently installed a Uniden uh015sx. Unfortunately every time I try and tx there's no voice coming through to the receiving end, and after about a second the unit sounds a constant beep.
New to the UHF game, so any advice as to what is happening is appreciated.
Oh yeah, and where's the best place/way to mount an antenna on a Disco Series IIa with no nudge/bull bar?

Hi,
Sounds to me like you have a short circuit antenna or the antenna connection is broken. I wouldn't be doing any more TXing untill you check it for fear of killing the transmitter. :o
I assume you are transmitting on a CB channel....they beep and wont TX on any 'other' frequencies you put in the scanner dept.

Make sure you are not using ch22 or 23 which are data only channels and you are not in the Police scanner band. Your display should show "CB" not "POLICE" and will have the channel numbers showing. You cannot Tx on any of the scanner channels.
Do you have your antenna connected??????
Also, check to see if you have a ground independent antenna fitted. If not, you may not get any Tx as it needs a ground plain (ie metal base area like a roof) to operate.
If you want to mount it, make up a bracket to run from your rear tyre carrier, use a ground independent antenna and away you go.
I have the same unit but have had no probs with it.
Andrew.
