Morning all;

The Range Rover Steering damper rubber bushes popped out on 1 side whilst i was at stockton beach week before last , the nut on the end of the threaded shaft had worked it's way loose and finally came off i had no idea they came loose and had been driving it but didn't realise how irratic the steering had become :o so I took the damper off the disco and used the Rubber bushes on the rangie for 1 side ,but the nuts were different thread :mad: so I went down to Mitchelle engineering in Honsrby and got some fine threaded nuts , sorted . but now the disco has no steering damper at all , can I order the rubber bushes as a seperate item to put the bilstein damper back on Disco ?

cheers guys

Just get ordinary bushes to suit a Disco from a suspension or parts place. They're not specific to the damper.......

Repco and others have generic shock pin bush's that will do the job, in urethane too if you like.

Khos, if there is enough thread left over screw a locknut on above the Nyloc nut, I have had this happen to one of my Bilsteins on the back of the Disco, no more problems since putting lock-nuts on, Regards Frank.

Pffffft!! My Bilstein damper bushes gave out about 2 years ago and I fitted a set of Nolathane 43010 bushes to it.
These suit Disco and RRC pin type or for Disco eye, pt # is 42109.

The compound is bollocks. Its a rubber bush. It doesnt move, it sits there and allows the pin to move on its axis when it needs to.
Different compound... oh pleeeeeease!!

yeah , that's what I thought when I spoke to 4x4 mega store:angel: when I asked if I could use the same pin type bushes from a generic brand , he tells me no i think they are different ??? anyhow I called Sydney shocks and ordered a set of bushes for the Bilsteins to put the dampers back on the disco.

Thanks for part number , I'lll keep that handy for next time..
