I've located a Smiths heater for a decent price but it's the model made for EH & EJ Holdens.
Can I modify this to fit my IIa Trayback Ute?
Alternatively has anyone here got a Smiths heater for a Landy that they're willing to part with?

What do you consider a decent price? This will influence wheather it is worth modifying the heater. How does this unit differ from the one that is meant for a Land Rover? I have what I believe to be a Japanese heater mounted in my Land Rover. I made a simple mounting bracket to mount it on the firewall.

I have the proper round style Smiths heater but i desperately want the long flat kind. I am open to exchange if anyone has one. Conversely i may be convinced to sell the round one.

Can't give a specific price, just that it's well under $100.
This one is the dome shaped one with a square base used in Holdens and it has the in and out pipes on opposite corners of the base.

I was lucky enough to have a replacement element bought for my 2A:

Clayton for all your heating & air conditioning - Classic 'Circular' Heaters (http://www.claytoncc.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemid=37)

Not much change from $500 :eek::eek: But then it was a 40th birthday present - so I didn't complain (at last I got something that was useful) ;)
