If you want to look like Big Bird: This might interest you (http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?__No=30&__Ns=pCar_Price_Decimal%7C0%7C%7CpCar_RankSort_Int 32%7C1%7C%7CpCar_Make_String%7C0%7C%7CpCar_Model_S tring%7C0&__Nne=15&__Qpb=true&seot=0&trecs=74&silo=1011&Cr=11&__N=1216%201247%201282%201252%201246%204294965541% 204294964692&__sid=11CE327ED60F&R=6279183).

Also, there was one on eBay a week or so ago - here (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140274232244&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:Watchlink:middle:au) - that didn't sell, but may have sold privately. If you're keen, it wouldn't hurt to email the seller and find out.

It is a 90, but it may not be a Defender 90. Defender name tag wasnt used till later. couldnt see an age on that listing

The yellow one looks pretty nice however.

Price seems to be about right too. You woudl probably get it for 30k

Hainsy99, I have a 1989 90 with just about everything (ARB air lockers F/R, ARB BB, Warn 10,000lb winch, VDO cruise control, long range tank, seperate mounted wheel carrier, only problem it fell on its roof and is getting fixed very slowly. Have all the parts required, has new fire wall already installed with new dash and Iron goat dash for the switches and electricals being redone currently. New and SH front doors, windscreen surround, roof and side panels waiting to be used. I now spend more time working out of Aus so am thinkiong of selling, let me know what you think.

Saw one this weekend in Perth's Sunday Times. I will see if we still have the paper to dig up the details.

The name "defender" started when the 200Tdi engine was fitted (1989/90). That vehicle has a 200Tdi...

However it is a personal import.

Vehicles with the 2.5P, 2.5D, 2.5TD and V8 (pre "89) were "Ninetys"

The yellow one looks neat and tidy...
The price would be good at $30k or a smidge under... steep.... try getting another oner cheaper.... good luck..
Yellow is pretty bright though... although you'll never loose it... trust me I have one too.

Cheers

I reckon the colour suits it.

I coveted a yellow 90 a few years ago (but my legs were too long). Even though my Defender dreamings are now satisfied with my 110 I followed a yellow 90 down Abercrombie St in Sydney last Saturday and was beset by yellow 90 yearnings.

(BTW they waved and blew the horn :D)

For that price it sounds like a Ninety with an engine conversion?

Be very very careful if you are ever looking to buy a yellow 90 (td5) as there was one written off a couple of years ago and repaired by a certain company in western sydney with a very dodgey history (pm me if you would like the company name). It had a very hard T bone to the passenger side, and was just thrown together (i doubt the chassis wasnt twisted). check very carefully around the passenger seatbox and door, pay particular attention to the door frame as i doubt they would have used the pressed steel post 02 defender frame like it should have been (compare it to the drivers side top inner corners). Also look for evidence of a respray around the sill and door edge. If in doubt, walk away.

Andy

oh, and give it a check on the NATIONAL written off vehicle register aswell as revs etc.
