I am hoping some knowledgable person can tell me what the fuel flow is for an isuzu 4bd1 including the return. So in anothers words how fast does the pickup pump pump the fuel out of the tank. I know that the engine uses 10-12L/hr on the highway but how much extra is pumped and returns down the return line?

Sorry mate but went through all my w/shop manuals but could'nt find a flow figure. You may need to remove the return and pump it into a container whilst running !!!!

Thanks for trying,
Just curious do you have the repair manual for the injector pump?
Just thought it might have said how the lift pump was driven and what it's displacement was.

the feed pump should deliver more than 405cc per 15 seconds @ 1000 rpm according to the injector pump manual test instructions.

Yes, indeed. That is also what my book says.

near enough to what emei's say...
max pressure is something like 15psi gauge.

Thanks for that fellas. If it pumps faster as the engine goes faster, which seems logical, that would give me 233L/hr at 2400rpm. At little more than i expected.
Blknight, if it can only generate 15psi how does it work the relief valve in the filter holder at 23psi?

not sure but it wouldnt be the first spec in the EMEI's that was wrong and I might have my numbers mixed up.... the relief pressure might also be set to deal with back pressure from the injector pump or pulse past the injectors them selves.
