I mate showed me a picture today his mate emailed him, of his Rangie Sport approx 300 kms from Birdsville I think he said. He was on the Sat phone requesting help at the time. It appears that the disc section had separated from the bell section of the rear hub or rotor and was just flying around until he was able to stop. I assume this would have done the wheel and caliper etc no good at all either. From the pictures it appeared as if the casting had failed. Hope that is not a common occurance. The vehicle in question was a survey vehicle for a rally and was very well maintained so I am told.
Before anyone asks, no I dont have any photos as all had the owner in them and there was no way to contact him and ask permission to post them on a web site.
