Send an email to Graeme Cooper. AFAIR he has an alternative.
Some people on the forum have used a Bosch 727 transformer with no problems but Bosch do not recommend it.
Failing all else AFAIR I have one in the garage.

American Autos Performance Store in Homebush Sydney is where I bought my Coil, actually I got it off eBay through their online store "oldholdensneverdie", the coil is a MSD High Vibration Blaster Coil Part#8222.
It is a Resin filled coil that is impervious to vibrations, like those encountered off road, it looks the same as the original coil, has same dimensions, and cost me 18 months ago $79, have had no problems with the seller delivering by mail, nor any problems with the coil, either Google up American Autos Perf. Parts store or go onto ebay and put there online name in Search and you should have one in a few days, Regards Frank.

My thoughts only, Phillip
I'm fairly sus on these high end coils being suitable ... I think they are responsible for destroying & burning the rotor butons & leads

I had one and it split a brand new set of leads .... Another chap has a GT140 coil and he has burnt out a rotor button

I've gone back to the original coil (New) .... No more issues :)

Glen82 .... RoverCraft will mail you a coil

$378  .... it ain't made of gold is it

The Bosch 727 is not a 'sports' coil.
It is a coil suitable for use with a power regulated high energy ignition.
I think they are a rebranded coil from an early Falcon with injection. However the devil is in the detail of amperage draw, which I think is technically too high for the Rover HE amplifier.
Bob Tait the technical manager at Bosch says that they will blow the output amplifier in a RRC/Disco , But when I posted that a couple of years ago, somone replied he had been using one for years with no problems.

I use a 727 but with a different amplifier that Unichip insist be fitted with their chip.

GT40 coils are non high energy coils suitable for use with points or transistorised switched ignition , not High Energy. They have completely different windings to a HE coil.

How about British Parts UK (http://www.britishparts.co.uk/.sc/ms/dd/ee/922/IGNITION%20COIL)? $28.20 plus p&h

I recently purchased a MAF D2 and they had it delivered in 4 days to NSW.

Check this thread here from "the good oil" section.

Well worth the read and explanation for the different types is given.
