Came across this Forward Control today whilst driving around the suburbs.

I could not find out any further info as no one was home at the time these photos were taken but it looks as if it is licensed and in use.

Very pretty series 2a!

Did you notice the little wheels? I wonder if he's running a regular series box as well?

Nice to see one still still doing a days work!

Diana

P.S. Stuart, if you are keen the chassis number is on the RHS front spring hanger so easy to read.

I'll revisit the house sometime soon and take more pix and get info on the vehicle.

Looking closely, it looks to have a Defender or Range Rover rear diff - 5 bolts on the drive member. Maybe Stage 1 bits? The front axle, though, has FWHs, so must be standard series, but perhaps with a 3.54 centre to match the rear. If it's Defender etc it would be wider track, fixing the rollover tendencies, and 3.54 diffs would make it faster and a little less thirsty. Very nice truck!

I finally caught up with the owner of the FC today. Unfortunately he was about to go out so I was only able to grab some pix and a quick chat.

The owner knows very little about the driveline of this vehicle as he bought it as is. It does have a Holden six installed and has what looks to be a Salisbury rear end.
I was intrigued by the 'chassis' extentions to the front as I would have thought that the chassis itself would have been lengthened to accomodate the cab. These vehicles must have been a disaster if involved in a 'head on' crash :(

The data plate confirmes that it is a S2A Forward Control.

G'day All, It just looks like any other F/C that I have seen over the years, I suppose if you aren't familiar with them you would be surprised when you first look underneath, cheers Dennis:angel:
