Quote of the Day – US investment analyst and entrepreneur Dr. Marc Faber concluded his monthly bulletin with the following:

“The government is sending each of us a $600 rebate. If we spend that money at Wal Mart, the money goes to China. If we spend it on gasoline it goes to the Arabs. If we buy a computer it will go to India. If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala. If we purchase a good car it will go to Germany. If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy.

The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it on prostitutes and beer, since these are the only products still produced in the US.

I’ve been doing my part”.

That last line is part of the quote, NOT A STATEMENT BY ME

I double checked to see if, "I’ve been doing my part", was a part of the quotation or your own comment.:p

Yeah and as I said when this same quote came up in another thread, before it goes to any of those places, it employs the locals, allows folks to earn an income, feed their kids etc etc. Its a pretty inane comment he has made when you think about it. Apply it to Australia and our exports.

Off to have a Stella, supporting the local bottlo...supporting the VIC distributor and at some point supporting Belgium :twobeers:

Stella is sold as an imported beer at imported beer prices but is bottled by CUB in Melbourne (look on the bottle). I pointed this out to the restaurant in Darwin which charged imported beer prices.

They were not amused.
