Hi Steve, if you have the later type engine EU3 with the water cooler you only still need one plate.

You remove the Left part of the EGR pipe from the watercooler that connects to the egr valve its self.

Leave the watercooler and the right hand side part as is, there is no need to disturbe that as the gas can only fill the inside of the water cooler and go no further.

TD5Alives Kits are made by me also, so if you do want extra plates then this is no problem ,but as said not needed.

Thanks Pete, Yes I would prefer the extra 2 plates, a little more work for probably no real gain, but hey, as suggested elsewhere it might even assist in lowering coolant temp., ha. thanks.

Hi Tombie2,
Hopefully not to late with this but I just wanted to confirm I requested (suggested ) I would prefer 3 blanking plates with my order (and pay extra of course). I know its not necessary, just want to blank off at the exhaust man.
Absolutely no rush, cant figure when Ill find the time to do it and sympathise with your busy schedule. Thankyou.
Steve

Might need the blanking plates as well....I've a late model Td5

We have an 05 td5. Do we need an extra plate?

Kandy
3rd December 2008, 01:18 PM
As pete has described before the extra 2 plates are not necessary for the later models with a water/ coolant cooled egr pipe at the front, you just blank the exhaust stuuf from the EGR side of the engine- leave both the coolant section and the pipe to the exhaust man. in situ, an easier job BUT I would prefer to remove the pipe from the exhaust man. to the cooled section, blank of the exhaust gases at the man. and blank off both ends of the cooled pipe section ( after removing the intake side of things). This is a common way of doing it but more difficult--(cant wait to remove those bolts holding the exhaust man. egr pipe off---NOT).

Onya Mike ,
Just sent off the payment and I note the inclusion of the extra blanking plates, many thanks. OK then, my plan is to upgrade the intercooler before anything else (Td5s are after all very detuned---as are the latest Nissan Xtrails diesel--- worried about blowing the gear box). If Pete at BAS is offering a reasonable price -- hey we are talking big money here, then lets negotiate sometime in the future, no rush., once again thanks Mike.
