Just a weird observation. Has anyone else noticed that you dont see big toads anymore. We have heaps of little ones but i haven't seen one of those big stonkers for the last couple of years.

 Move to Rockhampton then.
The old girl spends the early evening fishing the big suckers out of her fish pond.
Then plastic bags them up and puts them in the freezer next to the meat:eek::eek:
Could be the reason the missus won't eat meat when we visit.:cool:
The biggest I've seen one was bigger then a saucer, and I think it was trying to eat her cat:D.

Ahh... long gone are the days when I used to go out at night with a friend and hunt them down around our property and then later when I got my license trying to line them up while driving.

We dont have many around anymore, which is great as i hate them.
I recon the dry weather got rid of a lot of them, and also we&the neighbours dont water our gardens anymore.Water restrictions have hopefully helped clean them up.
We also used to have heaps of fun with them when we were kids.Mate of mine had a BSA air rifle with a scope.Golf clubs& cricket bats were also good.

haven't nailed a big one for ages got a few medium ones last month, under the cattle water trough and another couple under the overflow for the tank on the bails, i call a medium one the size of your open palm.
Haven't had any big buggers since i got rid of my fish pond.
Haven;t heard any from down near my dam or orchard for ages, put they usually die too, a walk with a torch and air rifle sorts them out.
and on the road in and out of town, have only seen and flattened the smaller ones, maybe they are dying out, ( one would hope) I might get some black snakes back on the property.
My best was 28 one night just walking about the house, shed paddock and road( but that was when the pond was going strong.)
