D2 Diff lock fitting question

hi guys

just after some opinons relating to diffs for an 03 D2

does a landy specialist eg ritters, amv etc need to fit ARB leakers (&4.11s) or can any diff specialist or ARB store be trusted?

ps. I will be installing the compressor, air lines and electrial myself

I live close to melbourne so any recomendations would be apperciated!:)

I used ARB Northern in Thomastown for mine, service was good and you can pre book a vehicle to use (if you dont mind an old hilux tray), while they fit the lockers. I had a failure of a seal in my front diff locker a few months after fitting and took it back for repair with no questions asked.

I think the problem isn't necessariy having the locker installed, its the installation of the 4.11's that would have me going to a diff specialist that knows Landys to do it. I'm under the impression that a lot of shops have CW/P installations sent off anyway.

Did you have the lockers and 4.11s installed at the same time or did someone else do the cw/p? What brand cw/p did you use? Also did you use a four bolt flange and replace the rear DS with a uni? HD axles?

Yes, lockers and 4.11's went in at the same time, ARB and most other shops send the CW/p off to a specialist to be done, also replaced the rear donut with a uni as the flange used for the donut cannot be used on the 4.11 pinion. Not sure what brand cw/p went in, ARB had them in as stock as they origionally were going to use them on a rangie they used to race a while back. I hav'nt upgraded the axles yet but always drive very sympathetically to my driveline.

Getting the pinion height SPOT ON is the difficult part, I can highly recommend getting a diff specialist to fit them;)

Well its not actually difficult but time consumeing to do it correctly, I've had them take well over 5 hours before:eek:, but that being pretty anal about the set up:D
