This Sunday was the annual Rover Club display day, at Darval Park in Denistone.
I had only intended on dropping in for an hour or so, but as these things happen, I ended up staying for 4 hours! There was a nice cross section of Rover cars, with what I am told was an abnormally large turnout of the contemporary models (SD1, 75 etc). There was also quite a few Land Rovers as well, including two Series II Fire Tenders, a Disovery II, two Range Rover Classics and two SWB Series IIs.

Of course, I took plenty of pics! :D
The two SWB vehicles were most notable - both had been lovingly restored and were in excellent condition. One of the vehicles was a station wagon type hardtop, whereas the other wore a full soft-top, which I am told was "temporary" in order to get it rego'd (10 years ago!)
This one is owned by Andrew (no, not me...) and is for sale. ;) I seem to remember Diana posting an ad up for it at some stage.

He's running 6.00x16 bar treads... I know they are correct but it still looks under-tyred.

The two Fire Tenders were also of great interest and were in original-ish condition. I am told that they were originally part of a set of 3 purchased by NSW Fire Brigades, and all 3 saw later service in the NSW Rural Fire Service (or Bush Fire Brigade as it was) The third vehicle is still surviving, but is in standard LWB ute form, having been stripped of its fire fighting fit out.

This one is still owned by Annangrove Brigade of the RFS, and as such has retained it's later-service livery and fitout. It still occasionally gets used operationally I am told. It is lovingly cared for by Paul Anley on behalf of the brigade.

This one is owned by Brett Williams, and is fairly close to original specification.

Something for the Rangie-ites. :)
